[NEW BLOG: 2026] Riddhi Roy and her painful Injection experience from Dr. Tarunn
Riddhi Roy is a 24-year-old IT professional who is a regular patient of mine. She constantly comes to my clinic if she has any health issues. I have counselled her for some Gynaec problems as well.
Last week she was having a throat infection and walked into my clinic. I was on leave that day, since I was out of the town for a medical conference.
Dr. Tarunn (my husband), however was at the clinic. She had never gotten any treatments from Dr. Tarunn.
Today, she specifically came into my clinic to complain about Dr. Tarunn and they way he gave her an antibiotic injection, the other day, that was too much painful, so much so, that she shouted and cried during the course of the injection.
She shared her experience:
Riddhi walked into the clinic and I greeted her:
Me: Hello Riddhi, what brings you here
Riddhi: Madam, I need to talk to you, can we please talk in private
I was a bit confused, but took her inside the examination room where we had privacy. She sat on the examination table:
Riddhi: Madam, I had visited your clinic last week, Tuesday, you had been on leave for a conference, as informed by Dr. Tarunn, as he was in the clinic that day.
Me: Yes I was out of town and had asked Dr. Tarunn to be here for sometime in case any patient walks in with any critical issue.
Riddhi: Yes, I happened to walk in due to a severe throat infection, that was bothering me for days, and I thought I better come to you to get some medication for relief as I was due for a presentation at my company.
As I walked in, I learnt you were not in the clinic, Dr. Tarunn, however asked me about the issue. I told him about my sore throat. He said its a simple thing and he would give me a antibiotic injection.
I was a bit scared and wanted to avoid taking it from him, but he insisted, he said ignoring it would worsen the situation and might even spread the infection further and lead to fever. I agreed half-heartedly. He asked me to go into the examination room and lie down on stomach and get ready for the injection. I asked him
Riddhi: Do I have to take it on my back
Dr. Tarunn: Yes, its an IM injection, please get ready
I went into the room and got up on the examination table and loosened my salwar to reveal my left buttock.
He walked in with an injection with had a white medication and needle looked big. I was scared
But, that was nothing in front of what I had to face afterwards
Dr. Tarunn: Okay, buttock ko dheela karo
Riddhi: Okay, Doctor aap dheere se lagana
Dr. Tarunn: Dont worry
He applied the cotton swab and then started piercing the needle slowly, I cried in pain
Riddhi: Ahhhh! bahut dard ho raha hai
I felt it was a deliberate slow jab
Dr. Tarunn: Koi nahi bas ho gaya
I could see Dr. Tarunn smiling whilst looking at my buttock when I left, which felt a bit awkward. As if he enjoyed giving me pain !
Riddhi: Madam, what I felt was a very different experience thus, I wanted to discuss this with you, as I did not want to create any issues with the clinic, as you are a trustworthy doctor that I know for long.
I was a bit concerned about why Tarunn had injected her mercilessly and made up my mind to talk to Tarunn when I returned home.
Me: Thanks Riddhi for telling me all this, I will surely talk to Dr. Tarunn.
Riddhi was a bit relaxed after telling me about her ordeal, she thanked me and left the clinic, AND as I sat on my chair thinking about how the poor woman was stabbed with an injection, she had to endure so much pain. I made up my mind to talk to Tarunn about Riddhi...
